What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Cookies
The use of cookies is common practice on modern websites. A cookie is a small text file which is placed on your computer’s hard drive by a website. When you visit our website, your browser checks to see if it has any cookies for it and sends the information contained in those cookies back to the site in order to tailor and improve your experience.
Our cookies make sure the display settings you’ve selected before (for example, preferred language) are activated correctly.
Embedded content from other websites & Analytics
We do not use Google Analytics or any similar service.
Some of the services on our websites, such as adverts from CharityJob, Indeed and videos from You Tube, as well as sharing functions from Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, may place cookies on your computer to enable their service to work properly or to measure usage of their service.
To find out more about how the third parties referred to above use cookies and how to opt out of them, please review their privacy policies.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Telephone Recording
Please note that calls made to and from our 01582 456812 number are recorded for quality and training purposes. If you require a digital copy of a call please contact us on this number or via our e-mail address.
All recorded calls are held for a maximum of 6 months (this can be shorter if experiencing a high call volume with subsequent knock on effects on storage space) before permanent deletion. These timescales do not apply where a call has been downloaded for the purposes of answering a complaint or forms part of a safeguarding investigation.
CCTV
Please note we have CCTV in all public facing areas of our premises. This includes our Bradbury House offices (39 King St, LU1 2DW) and charity shop at 9 Market Square (LU1 5RD).
Our CCTV camera’s record video and audio and this is made clear when entering premises. We will only review footage where there is a valid reason such as the protection of our staff & volunteers, a complaint is received or if a potential criminal act has occurred.
All access to CCTV, and the reason for access, is logged and reviewed. Access is limited to the senior management team and we will not share footage with any other person unless instructed to do so by the Police.
For the purposes of CCTV questions please contact Dan McKeaveney via our e-mail address of admin@ageconcernluton.org.uk
