About Age Concern Luton
Age Concern Luton has been helping older people improve their overall quality of life, receive timely practical help, get out and about and retain dignity in later life for nearly 20 years.
We believe that retirement should be a positive experience and that Luton can become a great place in which to grow older. To help make this happen we are proactive in campaigning and shaping local policy, reactive to local strategic plans, and committed to raising money to fund services that older people tell us are important.

None of this is possible without the sterling efforts of our volunteers and employees and the continued generosity of individual donors and funding bodies. Currently sixty percent of our income is from money we raise ourselves and individual donations. This allows us to subsidise all our chargeable services, greatly increase the scope and scale of funded projects, and provide services which receive no statutory funding.
Moving forward we understand that as incomes are squeezed and valued services may be lost this is likely to be acutely felt by older people. We find more and more people are coming to us for help and recognise that we are in the privileged position of being entrusted with helping people address and resolve their issues. Age Concern Luton have successfully reacted to previous changes and challenges affecting older people and are taking proactive steps to ensure we are able to continue providing quality services for the next twenty years and beyond.
